Hello!
Welcome. This is the beginning of my journey as a writer and the early stages of my website and published work.
Today I'm going to share a little bit about myself and what I'm working on and what I will be sharing in the near future.
My name is Joseph Pesavento and I live in Queens, NY. I grew up in a small town called Marlboro but I've been in the NYC area since about 2014. I've always been passionate about film, writing, movies, and being creative. After getting my Bachelor's and several odd jobs, I found myself at a film equipment rental house in Manhattan. I worked there for about two years before stepping into another rental house with a much bigger reputation–Paramount.
From there, I worked hard to build on my knowledge of equipment while also writing in my downtime. Don't get me wrong, filmmaking was always my passion from the start. However, in the last two or so years, I've focused solely on writing. It's something I believe I'm talented at while always enjoying it even when I can't seem to find the next chapter or scene.
Rewind to August of 2019. I was at a horror convention and met several independent authors. I purchased their books and dove right in. It occurred to me that I had wanted to write novels before, but after seeing the potential from an indie route, I was much more motivated to move forward sooner than later.
I put my screenwriting on the back burner and started writing short stories and outlining some novel ideas. That is roughly where I stand today. A short story collection in the works for a summer release, monthly short story posts, a writing course, and giving anthology contests a chance. We will see.
For now, that is all I have. I'll keep updating when more develops.
